DVD: Classic Women`s Professional Wrestling VA-50-1

Violet Viann and June Byers were a great matchup in classic professional women`s wrestling, and here you’ll see them going against each other in a tag team match. Viann was on the slight side, but was incredibly fast and savvy in the ring. Beautiful Byers was one of the great stars of the 50s, especially after she defeated Mildred Burke for the NWA Woman’s title in 1954.

Vivacious blonde Nell Stewart won the WLW Television Women`s Wrestling Championship in 1953, and you’ll see her incredibly powerful head and body scissors, as well as some of her brutal finishing sleeper holds. This is also a great early look at Mae Young, who went on to have one of the most interesting careers in wrestling, doing everything form running a wrestling school with Mildred Burke to “giving birth to a human hand” in one of the strangest storylines in all of wrestling!
